The blog.
I’ve named my blog venus&eve.
The names or words Venus and Eve both conjure up a feminine air. Venus is the Goddess of Love and Feminine Beauty, and Eve was (for Abrahamic religions at least) believed to be the first female on Earth. These references to women and female energy are important because as part of this blog I intend to explore, discuss and chat about femininity and women’s issues.
I have penned a journal for about 16 years. These pages are filled with my tears, funny stories, personal development plans and theories, goals and dreams, love, anger, breakup tales with boyfriends and girlfriends, new friendships and relationships blossoming, questions to myself and the universe as well as prayers and revelations at how amazing, synchronistic and crazy-beautiful life can be. Yes, it’s a very all-encompassing journal!
As I’ve grown up I’ve noticed that my journal is being filled more and more with questions and critiquing’s about women; our friendships, partners, health, headspace, spirituality, our rights, as well as questions about being a mother, a sister, a friend, an aunty, daughter, a wife, a colleague, a partner, a lover.
Sorts of things I may talk about, but not limited to.
What does being a women mean? And what does it mean in the 2010’s? Is there knowledge or old stories that we may have lost over time about what being female means? How do our bodies work, how our brains work and how does our spirit ignite – are they all working together? What makes us tick, what makes us smile, love and joyous? What actions or meaningful experiences create love, hurt and a beautiful life? What does spirituality mean? What do I believe in – what do you believe in? Do relationships change as you get older? What issues are important to us, as women? As well as discussions on current-day issues about women and girls and anything and everything in between.
I also have many friends who are involved with women's issues of various levels - whether it be health, education, healing and more. As the blog envolves I hope to invite guest bloggers to also share their inspirations, ideas and thoughts on issues that relate to women.
About me.
I’m Catherine, a 30-something Australian girl who is tries each day to live a joy filled life. I believe that we are all responsible for the lives we live, which includes how we deal with curve-ball situations that life sometimes invites us to join in on. I believe that we learn something new about ourselves in every challenge we face and that we attract what we believe.
I’m interested in health and healing, politics, the mind-body-spirit connection, travelling, charity and giving back, music and culture, as well as women’s issues.
I am not a life coach, healer or doctor. I’m just a 30-something woman who is interested in exploring all things feminine – past, present and future.
I’m a sucker for a self-help or spirituality books – and all things Oprah!
I hope you enjoy my blog and please feel free to join in the conversation.
Peace and Love,
